Learning Targets

LINE

1- Line a. recognize difference between organic and geometric line
1- Line b. experiment with spiral, curve, branch, zigzag, forming patterns
1- Line e. practice making horizontal (asleep), vertical (standing up), and diagonal (falling) lines
1- Line f. recognizes objects that form a line and arrange objects into a line.
1- Line g. begin to show size awareness between lines
1- Line h. find line designs in art work
1- Line i. expressive line - pick favorite combinations of line designs to draw and color /emotion using line - 
               while listening to music draw what is heard
1- Line j. draw short and tall figures showing correct size relationship
1- Line k. line drawing showing an awareness of self in local world using symbols in communicating meaning.
2- Line a. experiment with organic line
2- Line d. find line design patterns in artwork and in environment
2- Line e. cartooning - create a variety of animal/ facial expressions using line

 

SHAPE

1- Shape a. recognize difference between organic and geometric shape
1- Shape b. combine shapes to create new ones – associate these shapes to something
                    (buildings, birds, animals, etc.)
1- Shape c. use repeated organic shapes to create a pattern
1- Shape d. Depth – use overlapping
1- Shape e. study and use shapes to illustrate a holiday

​2- Shape a. identify and name geometric shapes
2- Shape b. Combine shapes to create more complex new ones
2- Shape e. draw Animation characters using basic shapes

 

TEXTURE

 1- Texture a. recognize the difference between actual textures and drawn (implied) textures

COLOR

1- Color a. identify the basic primary colors / secondary colors and locate them on a color wheel
1- Color f. Divide an image into shapes, then aesthetically choose where to place primary / secondary /
                 warm & cool colors
1- Color g. discover how colors evoke responses and communicate different ideas
