Art Foundations I

Welcome to Mastering the Elements of Art

Art Foundation I

Art Foundation I is designed specifically for school-age children in 1st and 2nd grade (ages 6-8).

This LIVE ONLINE (zoom) course introduces your child to the elements of art (line, color, shape, form, value, space and texture) through a series of fun and interactive lessons that teach the beginning skills of art technique and expression.
*For a better understanding of these elements, please go HERE.

Your child will learn:

  • how to draw using line and shape and "breaking what we see into shapes."

  • recognition and use of patterns

  • basic composition (size and distance)

  • basics of how to use color, value, tint and shade.

  • introduction to using ink (sharpie) and color pencil.

Multiple lessons are integrated with literature and sensory processing for cognitive growth.

By the end of this course, your child will have a portfolio of their own artwork to showcase their progress and newfound artist skills.

This course can be taken twice
before lessons repeat.
